A day before the grand Sinulog mardi gras is the is solemn procession of the Child Jesus. Devotees from all over the Philippines, from every walks of life, flock to venerate the image of Senyor Santo Niño. On their hearts are prayers for good health, blessings, guidance, and of course, forgiveness for the sins that they have done.
This year, the Sinulog solemn procession will be on January 14, 2012. It will start at around 1:30 P.M. at the Basilica del Santo Niño. It will pass Osmeña Blvd., P. Burgos St., Plaza Sugbu, Magallanes St., Borromeo St., Leon Kilat St., J. Alcantara, V. Rama Ave., B. Rodriguez, Fuente Osmeña, Osmeña Blvd., and back to the Basilica.
However, before you join the procession, make sure that you have a comfortable footwear. It means that high-heeled shoes are not that ideal. You might also consider bringing water, umbrella (in case it will rain), hats, and towel/handkerchief.
By the way, don't forget to bring your rosaries and candles too!
